Through an unprecedented push by diverse partners across the nation the Greater Sage Grouse will not require listing through the Endangered Species Act.
Wyoming Conservation Corps has been a proud partner in this nationwide effort, mobilizing hundreds of hours of volunteer service directly related to the conservation of this iconic species. Wyoming is ground zero for this debate – weighing the potential environmental impacts of not listing the bird against the economic impacts of the bird’s listing.
We, at the WCC, are incredibly proud of our efforts with Devon Energy to protect and improve habitat for this important species.
Check out the announcement from Sally Jewell below, and our past blog post on our partnership with Devon – where we worked to improve core habitat area in Wyoming. https://wyoconservationcorps.org/2015/09/01/wcc-partners-with-devon-energy-and-blm-for-sage-grouse/
