Crew 1, Platte River Wilderness Area
Project Type: Disaster recovery post Mullen Fire

For their fifth hitch Crew 1 worked in the Platte River and Savage Run Wilderness Areas cutting out deadfall and improving trail tread where it was needed. Not only did the crew get to witness some incredible wildlife, they left lasting improvements throughout countless miles along wilderness trails improving recreation for years to come!
All Said and Done:
- Cleared corridor from deadfall
- Added drainage to trails where needed
- Improved sections of trail tread
Crew 2, American Trails Bridger Teton
Project Type: Teton Trails Restoration

For their fifth hitch of the season Crew 2, with their “positive group dynamic,” were up in the Bridger Teton National Forest and removed hazardous rocks from trails, improved tread and built drainage where it was deemed necessary for trail sustainability. For their off day they hiked all the way to the top of Table Mountain to take in the majestic views of the Teton Mountains.
All Said and Done:
- Improved 2.5 miles of trail
- Adding drainage where necessary
- Improved trail tread
Crew 3, American Trails Bridger Teton
Project Type: Teton Trails Restoration

For their fifth hitch of the season Crew 3 was also able to take in some incredible views of the Tetons. They spent their working days hiking upwards of 6 miles per day clearing trail corridor, improving trail tread, and improving some of the bridges they came across. For their off day they were even able to explore Yellowstone National Park.

Crew 4, Grand Teton National Park
Project Type: Vegetation Management

For their fifth hitch of the season Crew 4 was in Grand Teton National Park working to mitigate invasive species within the park. The crew also made tree tags, collected seeds, and even got to do some trail work next to Jackson Hole Lake. For their Education day they got to explore the National Wildlife Art Museum. During their off day they ventured into Yellowstone National Park and experienced Old Faithful and some of the other sights to see.
All Said and Done:
- Restored .4 miles of trail
- Collected 8.6 pounds of native seeds
Veterans Trail Crew (VTC), Big Horns National Forest
Project Type: Willow Creek Project ABD
Project Sponsor: Backcountry Hunters and Anglers






For their fifth hitch the VTC worked in the Big Horns placing wildlife enclosures around the Willow Creek in an effort to keep moose out of the Artificial Beaver Dams (ABD). The crew also cut down a few trees within the riparian area, built and reinforced a few ABDs. For their off day the crew explored the city of Sheridan and got to fish the Tongue River.
All Said and Done:
- Felled 7 trees
- Rebuilt 6 BDAs
- Rebuilt 12 wood fence sections
- Built 2 large enclosures around the creek
